Team-Building
Do you want to motivate your troupes and help each member strengthen his/her expertise, develop the team spirit of those running a project, create unforgettable ties among conference participants or simply spend some enjoyable time doing a fun and relaxing physical activity?
Depending on the client’s need, the School can orient its workshops so that, through circus arts training, participants can reach the desired objective: take on new challenges, learn how to accept failure with a smile, reach beyond self-imposed limits, improve communication, develop favourable ties with other team members, forge ahead with confidence, etc.
The circus is an instrument which allows the body to stay in shape and the spirit to work on concentration, team spirit and mutual aid. The circus artist, even while being part of a group project, is constantly in a personal competition with him/herself in order to attain and surpass his/her limits so as to demonstrate perfect artistic grace and physical performance in every movement.
Just like a winning enterprise, the personal success and support that each individual brings to his/her team makes the final group result a success.
Team-building activities are offered in the form of initiation workshops. Depending on the objectives and needs of the organization, l’École de cirque de Verdun can propose several different scenarios.
Circus initiation workshops of 2 or 3 hours can include:
- Acrobatics with two areas equipped with mats of various shapes, a mini-trampoline, as well as a 15-meter-long “fast track”;
- The trampoline provides an opportunity to explore the various basic jumps on one of our five devices;
- Juggling with scarves, balls, hoops, pins, flower sticks, Chinese plates and diabolos to explore dexterity.
- Aerial techniques (fixed trapeze, fabric, slack rope and rings) allow one to defy gravity, while trying to perform several trapeze positions, with fabric, hoops and the slack rope.
- Balancing: Balls, spools, rola-bola, as well as the tightrope and 2 beams of different heights put the participant’s balancing talents to the test! An additional challenge awaits those who try the unicycle!
Before the start of the activities, an animator explains and demonstrates the various circus techniques. A 10-minute group warm-up is required, to prepare participants for the activity. The age and capacity of the participant are taken into consideration for teaching the different techniques.
