Preparatory Program (Young Adult Section)
INFORMATION SESSION: Thursday 26th April 2012 à 6:30 p.m.
OBJECTIVE
The preparatory program for professional training (Young Adult Section) aims to develop abilities, in the varied circus techniques, of young people who show a physical and artistic predisposition to circus arts. The goal is to prepare these students to move toward professional training.
THE PROGRAM

This extra-curricular program targets people between the ages of 15 and 23 years. It consists of learning basic circus art techniques (physical preparation, flexibility, initiation into theatre, dance, etc.).
The courses are intensive and require a weekly attendance of 5 days, for a total of 16 hours (4 evenings and 1 afternoon). Students also have an opportunity to work out for 15½ hours per week, in open training. During the training, the students are invited to prepare a number to perform at l’École de cirque de Verdun’s traditional annual Cabaret.
The program goes on for 36 weeks, including a one-week break around the 20th week.
To be accepted, the candidate must pass an audition and be available for the complete duration of the program. The program is limited to a maximum of 20 places.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The preparatory training program (Young Adult Section) constitutes a preliminary process for professional training in circus arts. Besides being the preliminary process towards a higher level of professional training, the program can permit the young person to access specialized training programs and/or the development of a micro-enterprise in the stage show field. Technical knowledge acquired during the 3 years of the program can also constitute the basis of becoming self-employed and being able to offer his/her services and or other deliverables at public or corporate events.
Please consult the section titled Registration Methods to learn about conditions for admission.
