Preparatory Program (Youth Section)

OBJECTIVE
The preparatory program for professional training (Youth Section) allows young people who show a physical and artistic predisposition for circus arts to develop their skills in the various circus techniques. The goal is to prepare these students for professional training offered by a recognized institution.
THE PROGRAM

This extra-curricular program targets young people between the ages of 8 and 14 years. It consists of learning basic techniques in circus arts, play and dance. It also includes a physical training program as well as flexibility, physical preparation and initiation into theatre and dance.
The courses are intensive and require a weekly attendance of 4 days, for a total of 13 hours (3 evenings during the week and Saturday). Students also have access to 3 hours of supervised training per week as well as participation in the School’s annual show.
The program goes on for 36 weeks, including a one-week break around the 23rd week.
To be admitted, the candidate must pass an audition and be available for the complete duration of the program. The program is limited to a maximum of 20 places.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The preparatory training program (Youth Section) constitutes a process preliminary to professional training in circus arts. This program will also allow the candidate to acquire the necessary basics to be able to move forward to l’École Nationale de Cirque’s secondary program.
